Michel Couvreur Alba 19 Year Old 2002 Single Cask Whisky – 50cl | 45.5% ABV
This exquisite single cask release from Michel Couvreur (distilled in 2002, bottled as a 19-yo) has been matured in a Málaga / PX / Malaga-butt finish, then carefully aged in humid Burgundian cellars. Bottled at 45.5% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural colour, this whisky offers floral finesse, wined cask richness, and complexity born of long maturation. A rare and elegant expression for lovers of fine, sherry-influenced Scotch.
Tasting Notes
Nose: A very floral, delicate fragrance of dried flowers with soft vanilla, peach, and honeyed malt undertones. Subtle citrus peel and nutty notes emerge with air.
Palate: Rich and concentrated — dried apricot, toffee, mild spice, and warm oak. There’s a gentle sweetness and a slight smoke or malt warmth that balances the sherry/Málaga influence.
Finish: Long, intense and smooth, with lingering dried fruit, mellow oak, and a soft floral or honeyed note that stays on the palate.
