Michel Couvreur Alekse Single Cask Whisky 2008-2023 | 15 Years Old | 53.8% ABV | 700ml
Alekse is a refined and rare single cask whisky from Michel Couvreur. Distilled in January 2008 and bottled in 2023, this 15-year-old Scotch was matured in an old Oloroso butt in Couvreur’s half-humid Burgundy cellar. Bottled at natural strength (53.80% ABV), non-chill filtered and uncoloured, with only 702 bottles made. This expression skillfully balances power and elegance, delivering depth and subtle complexity without bitterness or harsh woody tones.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Floral and delicate, with subtle aroma of tea, faint aniseed, and gentle Oloroso sherry warmth.
Palate: Big energy at first sip — ginger spice, vibrant aniseed, fresh floral touches; it remains elegant while showing strength.
Finish: Long and fresh; aniseed returns, light and clean, with a very gentle bite that’s beautifully restrained.
