The Very Sherried Single Cask Whisky 1998 – Edition 2022 from Michel Couvreur is a masterclass in sherry cask maturation. Distilled in June 1998 and bottled in June 2022 (24 years maturation), this rare single cask expression has been aged in Pedro Ximénez – Málaga barrels, then rested in humid French cellars for optimum development. Bottled at natural strength (48% ABV), uncoloured and non-chill filtered, with just 850 bottles produced, it’s a rich, warming dram made for slow sipping and deep appreciation.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Floral, vanillic and woody, with subtle rancio notes typical of old Málaga wine and soft spices.
Palate: Soft yet warming on the entry, round and balanced with malt sweetness and a touch of ginger spice. The Pedro Ximénez influence brings depth, dried fruit and richness.
Finish: Long, powerful and complex with lingering sherry warmth, woody spice, rancio character and refined elegance.
